Biology Lab Description

  • The word ‘Biology’ is derived from two Greek words -‘Bios’ means life and ‘logos’ means to study. So Biology is the study of life. School labs are a great place for students which help them enhance their learning by doing and understanding the theoretical concepts of science which are taught in classrooms. Well-designed laboratories not only make science experiments fun but also help students in achieving good academic result.
  • To make the study of Biology livelier, the school has a well-equipped Biology laboratory with microscopes, preserved specimens, slides, models and bio-visual charts which emphasis on developing scientific temper among students. In  the Biology lab, the students are encouraged to learn through experiments and understand various concepts beyond their books away from the conventional classroom teaching.
  • Observations and experiments make learning more interesting and fun. Students enjoy performing experiments as they learn something new from the results. Every student from class IX to XII gets a chance to perform the practical themselves under the supervision of the teachers.
  • Salient features of our Biology lab is as follows:
    • Biology Lab is well ventilated and is made as per the norms of CBSE.
    • Practicals are demonstrated by the well qualified teachers.
    • Every student is given an opportunity to conduct Hands on practicals.
    • A lab assistant and lab attendant always assist the teacher during practicals.
    • Audio-visual aids are available with smart board.
    • Do’s and don’ts are properly displayed.
    • First aid facility is always available as and when required.
    • Students are given enough opportunity to enhance their talent in science by making models, charts, projects etc.
    • Time to time science exhibitions, quizzes, seminars etc. are also conducted.
  • Occasionally students of other classes also make use of Biology lab. For various activities related to general science, that helps them to learn new concepts of biology. Every year our Biology lab is furnished with the latest instruments, specimens, charts etc.

Chemistry Lab Description

  • This laboratory has all the necessary equipment for preparation of samples and standards for various analyses of liquid and solid samples. The laboratory houses traditional equipment including glassware, fume hoods, a muffle furnace, centrifuge, aggregate mill, and ovens. More specialized equipment includes a nitrogen gas purged desiccator and glove box to provide an inert atmosphere for the study of ASR (alkali silica reaction) gels, and other cementitious materials. Additionally, the lab is equipped with a particle size analyzer and equipment used to prepare fused beads for x-ray fluorescence (XRF) analysis.
  • The avant-garde Chemistry Laboratory provides a platform for students to nurture the budding scientist within them. The laboratory is furnished with latest hi-tech interactive smart boards for a virtual real life learning experience.
  • The Lab is provided with the state- of- the art devices like- Fume hood, Distillation unit, Electronic weighing machine, Bunsen burners, beakers and flasks. Concealed gas line and the safety devices such as Firefighting equipment, First- Aid Kit etc.
  • The acids and other reactive chemicals are stored in separate locked cupboards as a further precautionary measure. The students are provided with separate workstations with individual burners and plug points. The apparatus includes the common place strikers, mortar and pestle, clay triangles, watch glasses, crucibles, crucible tongs, chemical spoon, stirring rods, filter funnels and a variety of stoppers.

Composite Science Lab Description

  • The composite laboratory combines elements of all three Physics, Chemistry, and Biology laboratory in one single room. It's mainly used in schools till class 10th
  • The composite science lab is a place where our students discover their Science concepts in a practical manner.The lab contains different equipments that are used by Primary and Middle School students. Under the guidance and supervision of the Science faculty the students are encouraged to explore a new world of Science around them.

Physics Lab Description

  • Our state-of-the-art Physics laboratory is equipped with modern equipments to help the students learn the concepts of Physics with experiments. It is designed to give practice of taking measurements, analyzing data and drawing inferences while the students experiment.
  • The lab is quite spacious and very well ventilated to ensure proper availability of light in it. Each of the laboratories can accommodate 32 students conducting experiments in groups of two depending on the experiment at hand.
  • Our students get a virtual experience of experiments on the Educomp smart board and the crocodile physics which they thoroughly enjoy. Although the front of the room is fitted with blackboards and Educomp Smart board and a large demonstration table, the students spend most of their time at their lab tables performing their own experiments. There’s a computer in the lab for the students to reach for data collection and analysis. There is ample space in the middle of the room for large scale experiments. The lab is very well equipped with instruments, like- meter bridges, battery eliminators, potentiometers, Hooke’s apparatus, etc. One can also observe the resonance condition that so often proves attractive and interactive. The pin-boards on each wall are decorated with very suitable charts, maps, illustrations and quotes and at the same time various models, made by the students, are exhibited all around the lab. One just cannot resist loving both the lab and the subject as the aura of Physics seems to besiege the invader. What makes its significance even stronger is the presence of the students and the teacher.
